Irene was always, and will remain, a bright light for our family and our entire community. A truly unique and special soul, Irene gave love and kindness freely. Her legacy will live on in the many, many lives she touched, whether as an educator, friend, or confidante.
Diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma in March 2021, Irene undertook this challenge with the same grace that defined her life and endeared her to all she encountered.
We honor her valiant fight with this heartless disease. We also pray for all those who continue to fight, and those who have lost loved ones to LMS.
Irene always expressed solidarity with the need for further funding to advance research and treatments, in hopes of finding a cure. We have established this tribute as a stepping stone to one day reaching that goal.
